Beauty, plus sustenance, in one photo! Can't beat that one! These are beautiful. Who can resist a blue?

Mourning Dove has been in my brain for 4 years now! The colour of yours evoked a sigh. Whyever haven't I got it yet????

I hope my Aristocrat show bigger leaves like yours this year. Yours is the nicest one I've seen!

Your last "random blue seedling" is a real gem with all that streaking and misting. Quite beautiful!

This is a beautiful blue thread, Calilou2.

Thank you Jo! I will say, Mourning Dove is an absolute favorite of mine. It is only a couple of years old but one that ALWAYS catches my eye.

Aristocrat can be a brat for some - if Ken sees this he will almost certainly make a comment. He has teased me that my Aristocrat is plastic and that is why it looks good LOL! I will say - it has looked the same for the last several years, not sure why it isn't increasing, but it is always 7 - 9 eyes and looks just like this years photo.

The last seedling may not be gardenworthy for most, but it was the first variegated baby I grew from seed, so I am keeping it for sentimental reasons.

Thank you again for looking and your very nice comments!

Alexa, you are most welcome and I'm glad I've found a fellow Mourning Dove worshipper! I am going to get one this year...maybe on Thursday...hosta road trip!

I appreciate you commenting on Aristocrat. And....it's always fun anticipating Ken's reaction in what he's going to say next, isn't it? LOL

I love mine but you'd never know by looking at it that it is almost 4 years old - with 11 pips this season and last. Sounds big in number but it's not. It is rather testy here too but it's not stayed put for very long in one place, so it's not really at fault, more that I am to blame.

The leaves have not gained in size at all but maybe this year? It's due for a leap for sure. I just took this pic.

I'm pondering remarks by Mark Zilis where he refers to Hadspen Blue (of which Aristocrat is a sport) as "it can be thought of as a faster growing, small-sized Elegans". I've had HB now for...let's see... since 2013 and it has the 9 pips since I bought it. Slowpokes..runs in the family. BUT It looks really great, a nice Tardiana, I'll say that. I'll take a family picture when they have stretched their leaves out.

A couple of years ago I actually thought Aristocrat was related to June....until I got acquainted with Hadspen Blue.

Gary - thank you! Blue Clown was actually a gift from a hosta friend on this forum several years ago. It makes me smile every time I see it :-)

Caliloo2, I had to laugh by you saying " It makes me smile every time I see it" because I know there are certain hostas that make me do that... Lol! But let's keep that between you and I.

I am a big fan of Powder Blue. But it has been frustratingly slow for me. Last fall was a good growing one here though my Pip count went from 3 to 6, So, I am awaiting its full emergence (been real chilly here)

I like blues quite a bit. Your Mourning Dove leaves look so smooth I want to pet them. (Is that weird? :) The last picture of the random blue seedling is pretty nice. I'd be happy if that popped up in my garden.
