It still does not work What kind of adapter did you purchase that will work? I was told by Vikant that I cannot use this box with this computer. I would need to get the newer ultimate box that c ones with a sub port. Is this accurate or is th her a name or manufacturer that makes this adapter and where d o v I get this? Excuse typos. You may have been told the box is not compatible because of the computer processor. If your processor is 32bit, it should be compatible with updated drivers....unless you have Win8 or later. It seems the older software that we used with XP and Win7 just isn't recognized by "8". There are many of us with embroidery software that will need to be replaced when our present computers bite the dust. You might consider trying to find an older computer that you can dedicate to your embroidery & the box, w/o accessing the internet. I have a Magic Box as well as my PE Design (and other programs)...and that is what I am doing. A lot of unhappy embroiderers out there.

My inquiry was about the a d alter that will allow me to use the serial port Ultimate Box with a computer that does not have a serial port just usb ports. Can you give me the info for that manufacturer and the computer that I wish to use is running Vista.

Have you inquired of your computer tech? Google 'serial to USB connector'. There are many suppliers on Internet and at eBay. You can ask the seller for compatibility.

Perhaps you we're sent this information by mistake. Someone on this site said they had an adapter that worked. I just wanted the information as to where they got the adapter that worked. That is all the information I requested. Who manufactured the adapter and where they acquired that adapter is all I wanted to know. I am aware of Vikant's knowledge base and tech support.

That was prob me re my P E Design v4. It is RS232 USB to Serial(DB-9)..a nine pin for reader/ writer box. It would have to be compatible with the technology of your box. I cannot say, as I've never owned that box. However, I found it on the Internet by Google searching for the RS232 ( as that info was on my writer box. I cannot remember the site I found (note the post date), and it shipped from China with no company name on the pkg. it came with a driver installation disk. That is about all the info I can give you. Best advice remains to talk with your computer store or Google for product.
