I grow indoors with intermediate temps. I'm not sure about humidity, probably something like 40-50% at guess. Anyways thanks for the reply! I'll pot it up with some moss and just see how it goes.

There is the problem that till recently not many people tried to grow Sarcochilus indoors, so to some extent you are a pioneer.

They are closely related to Phalaenopsis but while my Phalaenopsis spend half the year in this room where it is currently 18.5C with 44% humidity, my larger collection of Sarcochilus are "outside" in an unheated, heavily shaded glass-house where it is currently about 14C with 50% humidity. It is 7pm and that outside temp will continue to drop till dawn.

The ancestors of your hybrid came from NSW Australia and they probably need a bit of a pathetic winter (By US standards) to decide to bloom in spring. So, if you keep it too warm in winter you may get nil blooms.

Why is the glass-house heavily shaded? Because every day for the last ten days, the arid winter wind has blown and the sun has shone from cloudless skies.

All you can do is try and see what happens.

Thanks arthurm! Very helpful advice! I just go with it. Cool winters aren't a problem. If it likes it real cold I could even put in the tool room where it stays around 60 in winter. The tag says: Sarc elegance 'petite' x amber 'apricot'

Not sure if your tool room is a good place. Sarcs might not like a constant 60F. Where my Sarcochilus are at 8:am it is 8.5C and the temperature will lift to something like 20C as the day warms up.

There are a lot of sub-tropical places where there are cool nights and pleasant days in "winter".

Anyway, I think you have a good chance of success.
