My Duke has been in full sun with costal temps since I purchased it and does well.

Roxanne - my Duke has been in full sun for the last 3 summers. It
is shaded late in the afternoon but otherwise, full sun. To me, Duke
takes on a purplish tinge but in cooler weather, pinkish. I know that
everything you read online says it's a dark red, and it is a beauty, but
for me it has not yet been a deep dark red. But it is still a
young'in. :) I'm hoping it will bloom but the branches are still
very short. It blooms for-freakin-ever! Love the scent. LOVE the
scent!

Thanks you 2...need to move it then. When I first got into plumeria over 10 years ago, I ordered a bucket load (22) from Teas Garden Nursery in Texas. I over watered and did not pay attention in the cold that winter and killed almost all of them...Duke and Dean Conklin were the first to go....so, happy to have him again in the yard...will post when he opens and hope for a GREAT seed pod. As long as there is enuf time in life left to do the whole seed thing again. :-)

Hi Roxanne, I have one that was in the sun for about 8 hours a day and finally moved it but before I did it had bloomed and will post the picture of it from 2 years ago. I hope that it will bloom again, it is very beautiful. Barb

wow! So glad I got it...can't wait to smell it.

Mine does just fine in full afternoon sun and ditto to what Moonie said about the colors and blooming.
