It's just after 9 at the location of the Spring Fling and things are certainly rockin' & rollin'....rumbling too. So far, so good. Newcastle sirens have sounded but nothing else SO FAR......

Is there a "go-fund-me" account that we can get Mother Nature back on her meds? LOL!

I'm NE Norman and it was really dicey for a bit...but the rumbles are getting quieter.....and the radar says we're ok. However, there is a POND forming where we had the Fling! I'm just grateful there was no hail because my maters were/are exposed now with no frost cover!!!!! Thanks, Bon!!!!!

1:30 AM Sunday and the major part of the storm has passed us. We still have thunder and lightening and a little rain, but I don't think we have damage.

We were up much of the night on account of the storm. I only just stuck my head out the door and see lots of downed limbs from the trees. It was wild and it was noisy!

I guess we dodged it again last night. There were reports of strong rotation near Nobletown (between Seminole and Wewoka) around 9:30, but just a big thunderstorm. If my yard could sing, it would be something like "I feel soggy, oh, so soggy..."

Awake here from 1:30 til 2:30. Too much thunder to sleep. 1.3 inches of rain overnight. No damage here.

No damage here, except that the new rainfall just adds insult to injury. Last year at this time we couldn't get rain to fall and now this year it won't stop falling. Only 1.1" in the rain gauge this morning, but I was awake for quite a while too with thunder, lightning and the NOAA weather radio going off repeatedly.

Some puddles have been sitting there on the ground so long that they are growing pond scum on top of them. That is ridiculous.

I'll be glad when (if) the weather settles down and we can get back to just discussing gardening, instead of every week being a battle for survival for the gardens, and sometimes the people too.

There's very serious flooding to my south in Texas, and while I know they needed the rain, they didn't need for it to come all at once any more than we did here.

The tornado went across our town 2 miles south of our home at about midnight. For the first time I realized how difficult it was to get harnesses and leashes on three dogs when the storms were so active, and the sirens were so loud. We get sirens from Broken Arrow and from Tulsa. That is not bad, but the dogs were terribly nervous. Fortunately the tornado went west to east, instead of turning north.

I really do not like tornadoes.

All good here in bixby. Circulation went about 1/2-1 mile south southeast of us. Lost power for a minute or 2. One thing that was very scary and in my opinion dangerous was when the TV cut to the Emergency bulletin thing. We were sitting watching channel 6 and the chasers are about 2 miles south of use calling out what they see and then all of the sudden Emergency announcement cut in. Well crap that does me no good when I'm getting accurate info from the spotters. Who ever thought that was a good idea especially on the local channels is a moron. Sure cut into HBO or any non weather reporting channel but NOT the locals.

Sammy, I was worried about you after I heard about the BA tornado on the news. So glad to hear you are fine. I have the same issue with 6 dogs who normally go where I tell them and do what they are supposed to do. When they get scared during a serious storm, they are harder to guide and control. The two youngest are just puppies so these are the first severe storms they've experienced and they don't care too much for them.

I don't care for tornadoes too much myself, and this seems like a year when we all may be sent fleeing to our storm shelters more than usual.

Our dog has learned that when the neighbors visit in the middle of the night, he needs to go to the shelter. Not his first rodeo. LOL

We only got an inch of rain this time so we didn't have the road closing problems that we had during the last big storm. I saw a small tree down on the way to church and when I returned home there was a huge tree in a downtown street in front of city hall. Half of my garden is OK, but things in the lower half look like life is over for them. In addition to the rain, there is a french drain that feeds into that area. It works wonders in dry years, and in normal years it doesn't get planted until after the Spring rains are ended, but this year I have about 30 tomato plants that will be lost. Too soon to know about the peppers yet. We just haven't had much heat yet, so everything is late. I gave most of my tomato transplants away to 3 different families, now I am trying to improve the few I had not planted so I can get a few of them into the garden.....if it ever drys out enough. I have 6 plants on the high side of my garden, so all are not lost.
