would you say stacking is better when the tiles are longer and thinner like your 2 x 10s?

Stacking tiles is already a contemporary approach. Longer, thinner tiles are fairly contemporary as well. Stacking more standard size subway tiles (2 x 5 or 3 x 6) could be a solution for a space that is trying to find a compromise between tradition and modern (we call this transitional).

Were these tiles installed one by one? I bought some beautiful glass tiles for my new contemporary kitchen and would love to stack them like you did, but they come staggered. I am wondering if it is too risky to let my tile guy to do it individually. I heard that it is hard to get great results when you install them separately.
