Glowing Climbing America

I've tried to take a full bush shot of Climbing America, to show how much it glows! it is so bright and colorful that I just want to stare at it Even this close up doesn't show how vibrant the color is, but it comes close,

Houstonista, thanks! Mine gets about 4 hours of direct sunlight a day. It does get some black spot, but not that bad, it is setting on a few blooms now. I'm wondering how it would do if it got more direct sunlight, might bloom more like my Dublin Bay, which blooms good for me. Here's a partial shot of Dublin Bay.

I have the opportunity to buy this rose again this year. I am debating if I should since I don't have much room for a climber. I am still thinking but it is beautiful!

We can grow this here as a hybrid tea, but not long term. I love it; and love your pics.

It makes a wonderful climber but I can't seem to keep mine tied to the trellis. Perfect, big flowers all the time! Great photo.

I was able to get a better picture of the full bush, still better in person though.

I have to say if one day for some unfortunate fate that resulted in my memory loss, I can still be sure that I will remember you Sara along with your climbing America. You are the poster child for this rose. It is just stunning year after year. I love the height of it too. It is not a monster but tall enough to enjoy it. If you decide to move to your dream home, make sure to bring this one with you.

Thank you so much JJ, that's quite a compliment. I have to say that it struggled along for years before getting to this point, but I kind of neglected it, so it was partly my fault. I love it now though.

Beautiful plant, beautiful flowers! I was not patent with mine because of her so slow growing and removed it from my garden. I like yours very much!

Oh wow, how beautiful!

About how many hours of direct sun does it get? I planted my America a few months ago in a place that, at the time, had a good 6 hours direct... as the season is changing, it's now only getting about 3-4 hours direct a day. It's still blooming, but not like it was earlier this year... boo.

Have you had any trouble with black spot? I'm fighting it a bit right now, but I think it's due to the fact that I delayed planting while I found the perfect raised bed (Houston - soil is basically clay).

So lovely, Sara. I have planted climbing American this year, but still no flower so far. Can't wait to see blooming next year.

You need to stop... these are just too amazing!

I will just have to be patient (ugh... this is not my forte). The few blooms I've been rewarded with however, are more than worth the wait! As for the black spot, I guess I will just have to keep on truckin' with the spray bottle... Hopefully you'll see my beautiful America posts in a few years time!
