roguchi clematis

My Roguchi clematis seems to be top heavy, and after a storm is flopping over the support. It is beautiful and I don't want to have problems later. I wonder if I could trim the top? Would this cause it to stop blooming? Thanks for any suggestions....Mackie

'Rooguchi' is a non-vining clematis, often left to scramble loosely through other plants. If you are attempting to grow it on a trellis or other support, you will need to fasten it to the support, as it will not grip on its own.
