Finally finished!

So happy it is done. Choosing the backsplash was the hardest part and took me forever! I finally went with Quemere tile with a crackle finish. The company was very helpful in helping me put the colors together. My kitchen is not large by any means but it feels spacious with the white cabinets. I used Sea Pearl quartzite for the counters and I love it. We added wood to the ceiling and I think it flows nicely with the cabinets. This was a galley kitchen that we turned into a u-shape by replacing the patio door with the window and sink. This forum was very helpful during the process.

Wow. It's absolutely beautiful. There are a number of highlights, but I really love the way there is glass on the cabinet front AND sides on both sides of the window. Very cool.

Wow, the detail you put into this kitchen is amazing - love the back splash and handles. Very smart choices.

The glass on two sides of the cabinets is one of my favorite details, too. The ceiling adds a nice highlight, too, as do the pulls, the quad outlets (!), the oh-so-pretty tile wrapping the window, the U-shape (my favorite layout), the cabinets on the DR side of the kitchen, the handsome floor, the towel sleeve. Does a dishwasher sneak in there somewhere?

It's so pretty! Thanks for the reveal :-)

Love the focal point of the sink and window. Well, love everything. You've chosen elements well to stay consistent with a certain theme that come together to make a really spectacular whole. The backsplash is perfect with everything else. Total jealousy here.

It's like a dream! I love the ethereal quality of the elements and colors.

Beautiful choice with the backsplash - it's perfect with the Seapearl. I just love the Seapearl with the white cabinets. What wood species is the floor? Are those glass cup pulls? Give yourself a big pat on the back. Gorgeous kitchen!

What a gorgeous kitchen! Everything looks fantastic, and yes, tell us more about the floors, and also what kind of mats are those in front of the sink and cooktop?

So pretty. Love the countertop! Thank you for sharing pictures!

Great choice with the backsplash, it complements the cabinets so nicely but doesn't detract. My favorite element of a lovely kitchen!

A few posters have used the word "pretty" now, and that is exactly the word that popped into my head when I saw this kitchen! You added beautiful detailing, I love the café curtains, love the countertop colour, knobs. Am SO jealous of your uppers by the sink! Great job!

Wow! This is so beautiful! I love how all the details come together and make it look so homy. The backsplash tile coordinates perfectly with your Sea Pearl quartzite and cabinets and just pulls it all together. Great job!

very pretty. I like the imaginative way that the corner window cabinets step across to meet the window.

I'm usually not an all-white kitchen fan but wow, just wow. It's gorgeous. I'm also usually not a fan of fancy tiles with rope trim details but those tiles are spectacular and the rope trim adds a subtle extra touch. Your choices of finishes all-around is just so well done. And you have a good, functional layout, too! Well done. Bravo!

A jewel box of a kitchen! So pretty!!!

Thanks everyone. I was going for a certain "feel" for the room and used a local cabinet maker who really listened to me. When I shopped around I found that the others didn't care about my vision and tried to sway me their way. I had so many ideas I wanted and my cabinet maker remained so calm and just showed me how it would look and left the decision up to me. I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to force me one way or the other. Needless to say, I tossed out most of my wish list because the room was just too small.

The cabinet uppers are inset and the lowers are frameless in order maximize storage space and save a few pennies. We went 14" deep on the straight uppers and 16" deep on the corner cabinets. I used a slightly crinkled glass glass to just give a little texture but not obscure. The glass door is actually a like one bi-fold door. I went with all drawers for the lowers and am happy I did. I had a couple inches to the left of the sink left over and I put in a spice pullout. It actually works well because when pulled out it is within easy reach to the cooktop. We went with corner drawers instead of a lazy susan. The color is Simply White.

The pulls are Lew's Hardware glass bin pulls. I originally bought the coordinating mellon knobs but they had a green cast to them and looked dull. I ended using Schaub crystal knobs. Both have chrome trim.

Sink - Franke Manor House fireclay 35"

    Faucet - Waterstone

    Cooktop - Miele induction 36"

    Coffee maker - Miele

    Oven/microwave combo - KitchenAid 30"

We haven't replaced the refrigerator yet

Floor is tile and the gel mats are just from Costco

After much thought, I chose not to include dishwasher. I had bought one about 6 years ago and found I rarely used it. I found it easier to wash the dishes and be done than to load and empty. It seemed like whenever I wanted something it was in the dishwasher waiting for a large enough load to run. It is just me and my husband now. We made sure we could add one if we ever decide to down the road.

I am so happy I found Garden Web and was able to read the experiences of others. It sure made my project easier.

Very, very nice! I love all your elements and the welcoming feel. I've never cared for bin pulls much, but the ones you have are very intriguing. Love the backsplash. I love beautiful tile, but you don't see much of it any more. It is perfect with the Sea Pearl. We're considering that for our bathroom remodel. Just really lovely. Congratulations on a great renovation.

Jewel box is the perfect phrase. It's truly beautiful, you must love to spend time in your new kitchen!

Outstanding job! Especially love the counters & ceilings!

Can you tell us the name of the floor tile? What side groupt limes and what kind/color grout did you use? I've been considering using a wood look tile for our entire first floor, and yours looks great!

Love it! Good decision to ditch the patio door in favor of a window and a U lay-out. And what a great idea to add shallow cabs at the ends of each U. That finishes each run nicely with the bonus of added storage.

Love how the glass fronted cabs book-end your window (We're doing an upper cab with glass front and side next to our window, too.) I love the dish towel cab, too. Great idea to put a piece of counter at the bottom of it.

Your gorgeous counters and beautiful backsplash compliment each other and the kitchen wonderfully. And those glass knobs! So pretty! We looked at those exact knobs for our DR hutch. They fit your kitchen much better than they would have suited my DR hutch.

I love the little extra detail you added to the Shaker style door and drawer fronts. Did your cab maker suggest that or was that your marvelous idea? Either way, it shows the care you took in planning a very lovely kitchen. You coordinated so many wonderful details to create a beautiful kitchen. Everything fits so well together.

    You must be loving it!

Great use of space with the U-shape and the tall end cabinet built around your ovens. Love those glass cabinets!

Sorry, but I don't seem to have the information about the floor tile anymore. We put it in the dining area, living room and hall, too. The kitchen was the last phase and was installed about 18 months after the rest.

Correction - the crystal knobs are Emtek, not Schaub.

As for the detail on the cabinet doors and drawers, I just wanted to add something to make it a little different from regular shaker. I described it to the cabinet maker and he came through. I wanted corbels/brackets under the glass cabinets and bought them, but we didn't install them because it makes the area feel a bit cramped. I think they would look nice but not practical.

If you listed all the details you used , it might sound like "too much." But it is all so compatible and subtle, it's just lovely together. Perfect harmony! Congratulations on the result of sticking to your vision!

So lovely! Thanks so much for sharing. We just installed Sea Pearl, and I am struggling to find the right backsplash. Love how your backsplash compliments your quartzite! Great job.

Thank you for posting pics of the pulls and knobs. They are as I suspected, just lovely, and I bet they feel lovely too. I have to agree, you just made everything work perfectly. Nothing is fighting for attention/overpowering other elements. It just.all.works. I can only hope and pray I am able to say that about my kitchen when it is done. :)

You hit the jackpot with your cabinet maker. What a gem. And good for you for listening to him!

I tell ya, every time I look at the head on, close up shot of the sink and all that is included, all I can think is, Picture Perfect. Truly.

p.s. I am so glad to see paper towels on the counter. I thought I was the only one! lol

Thanks for posting a closeup of the drawer pulls & knobs. Soooo pretty. Forgot to mention the ceiling - another special detail that adds to the overall look of your kitchen.

What a lovely kitchen!! The pulls and knobs, that back splash, and the jadeite in the glass cabs! It seems to tie in to the color of the back splash detailing.

    Just beautiful.

I've already commented, but wanted to add that your kitchen has inspired me to look for some accents that add charm to ours. We're close to being finished, so the big things are done (and I love them), but it could use a few little "charming" details.

Lovely choices, so nicely put together. So calming/serene looking. Enjoy!

    Nicely done!

My favorite parts are the backsplash and the drawer pulls.

Oh, I just saw the little detail on the doors. I love kitchens where there's always something new to ogle!

    beautiful

Great job with all of it, especially the back splash and love love love the glass pulls and knobs!

Very nice! The glass bin pulls are so pretty. We are in the final stages of our remodel and have many similar elements to you... Gets me excited!

    Very pretty!

It is a beautiful kitchen. It looks like an inviting space. I think the backsplash and warm wood floors nicely offset the white.

    gorgeous!! congratulations :)

I love those glass pulls and the glass knobs. Do you find they're easy to keep clean?

Very pretty! I love the bling of the glass knobs (I have the same knobs) and pulls. Very lovely!

cpartist, the knobs and pulls are no problem to keep clean. The pulls have ridges on the outside and are smooth inside where you actually place your fingers.

That pull out towel rack next to the sink is a terrific idea. Mind if I steal it?

I particularly like the color of the floor- a perfect balance of darker and lighter; but I did not guess that it was tile! Sea Pearl is always a favorite of mine, and you really have an eye for the little details that made the most of everything. Good job!

reneern99, how wide is the cabinet for your dish towels? Where did you buy the hardware for the towel rods?

    Thank you!

    beautifully done!

Whoa, I totally missed this reveal. Glad it resurfaced for Lisa's question. Love it!

lisa_a, the opening of the towel cabinet is only 4 3/4" wide. I had hoped for a wider opening but just didn't have the space. I refused to get a smaller sink! The rod is a double rod, one above the other, because it attaches to the top of the cabinet. I didn't want it attached to the side because it would show. So, I just took the rods and spread them apart a bit and now I can drape one towel over both rods for more air flow, or hang two towels side by side. I thought the space would too narrow but it works fine. The rod pull forward for easy access. I must say it works very well even though it is narrow. I think it is from Rev-a-shelf.

Thanks, reneern! I have an inch more than that so if it works for you, it will work for me.
