Frustrated with ceiling lines

I am trying to design a fireplace/tv/shelving unit for the main wall in my living room. My issue is with the ceiling. I can't figure out how to top it off. I'm not sure I'm going to capture the effect I'm looking for if I run the new wall all the way up to the ceiling, but I'm not sure how it would look if I top it off at about 10' either. The rough dimensions of the wall are 15' long with 8' ceiling that angles up to 13' at its highest point. I attached 2 photos to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with. The 1st on is of my current wall, and the 2nd is the style I'm looking to accomplish with the new unit. Any thoughts?

I think topping it at 8 feet would work well from both appearance and practicality points of view. You might get some blue painter tape to outline the proposed structure on the walls. If you cover the relevant area with white butcher's paper or kraft paper, you can sketch on it, too.

Moving the large round clock over the new shelving unit might work, too, if you feel like putting something up there when you finish.

Hi John,
To create balance find the center point of the room and create a staked stone fireplace/TV wall chimney in the center about 54" wide and run the stone all the way to the ceiling. The fireplace wall will not look odd at the angled ceiling, will balance the room and create a focal point. Your built in cabinets on either side will be balance the space.The top of the crown on the cabinets should match the height of the low ceiling angle. Use a big crown so your eye stops there and creates a visual line. This will create the look of your inspiration room.

I'm thinking a fireplace floor to ceiling that spans the area under the unsloped portion of the wall. Then floor to ceiling shelving under the sloped portion of the wall to include provisions for TV. Sorry, I couldn't find a photo to illustrate that.
