Yes, pinching snaps encourages them to branch out more, resulting in a fuller plant that gives you more flowers. The first thing I do when I plant my snaps outdoors is to pinch out the tip of the main stem. Be sure to pinch off the seed pods after flowering so they form more flower buds. If you don't, the plant will set seed and stop flowering.

Will my snapdragons generate new flowers on a bare/stripped but green stem? It us mud November in Nw Wisconsin and some of my leaves had gotten dry in the scurry of moving things into my home . 20/ 34"-40" rockets and 30+ coleus of varied ages of 1.5 -3yrs of age all from seed. I need to transplant the rockets for wintering in south facing living room window. Bakers rack in a 48" window. I'll be fighting with them for a few weeks after the past week long neglect. But will atleast expect to have most of the white variety healthy and prepared by March. Thanks in advance. Sorry to jump the thread.

New growth slows down in winter but given enough light and warmth they will grow new leaves/shoots/branches.
