Some orchids are really forgiving, this is one of them.

I bought the plant about a year ago as a "bag baby" and it was just hanging by a thread with one pb and only one weak leaf. It grew a nice new pb this year and was spiking when a snail decided to have a meal and ate half way through the spike. I took the plant inside and hoped to save the spike by staking it. The top end of the spike with all the buds died anyway BUT it grew a new one!
