I am very new to hydroponics and gardening in general. Around the
first of April I was given a few tomato sprouts started from seed. They
were placed under a lighting until they were 6-8 inches. The tomato
plants were transplanted to pots then
later hardened and moved outside. It may have been too cool of nights,
some dropped to fifty and my leaves and stems got purple. They appear to
be strong plants but there are several issues. 1) they are small 12-18 or
20 inches tall and do not seem to be growing any taller, two are smaller, 2)
they do not seem to have many leaves. 3) leaves are showing deformities. First
two may just be me but last is definitely an issue and now they are beginning
to flower so not too sure anything can be done.
It may be a calcium need as my peppers seem to
have same issue. This could also be several problems. My concern
now is to determine what the problems are and if I can correct then avoid them
next time. I am just trying to learn this year but still have hopes of
fruits from my labors.
