Privacy Fence

Hello! I am looking to add a Dutchman's Pipe vine along my 6'-0" H iron fence for privacy. The fence runs the whole length of my lot which is 125'-0". How far apart should I space out planting the vines to get full coverage? I am thinking it will also create a nice green backdrop for my perennials.

What a beautiful fence. I have no idea about vines but I love your line of plants.

I would space them 3 feet apart. That is the recommendation that I have with mine.
I realize that means ~40 plants, but also consider that they will extend 30 feet when mature. So, I would concentrate on working them around different parts of the fence which should give you excellent/interesting coverage in a few years.
You would probably also be able to create a vine design around a frequently visited area of your fence, if you were so inclined; would be extremely cool to see!

That's interesting. I heard 8 but not 3. It would be full without a doubt. Do you need to prune them a lot?

This is just my opinion, but wider spacing is fine, but I would close the gap since you are trying to fill a vertical space with them. To really get coverage on that fence you will want significant overlap, I would think.
If not, then a wider spacing would be fine.
I prune mine every year, but I am not trying to cover anything.
