you really havent given us any facts .. other than dropping ...

sometimes in spring.. they just grow so fast.. it takes a bit for them to stiffen up .. but they shouldnt be laying on the ground .. its usually just the tips that flop...

any history of excess fert??

I planted it about 5 or 6 weeks ago. I have not fertilized it. But it is growing VERY well and i was surprised because it was said to be a slow growing plant. Even though the plant is best in shade, it seems as if the two stems are going for sunlight. Sunlight hits the exact spot that are laying in.

its probably still reacting to being hyper fert'd in the pot ... did you bare root it .. or plant it will all the old media ...

all you can do.. is wait and observe ... and report back ...

Lower branches of aucuba often hang down. That's just their habit. Often they will root in mulch and you can have some new plants to move around.

Likely once it's established it will put out more vigorous upright growth. Maybe next season.

Nothing to be concerned about at all.

Yes: a couple spindly lower branches that flop is not a problem.
