What is a "fixture"

I received an estimate from a contractor to remodel my master bathroom. He stated that fixtures were not included. I am trying to understand what would normally qualify as a "fixture".

    i'd say you should really get an itemized list of whats in the quote, as well as what isnt. there are various ways of having a vanity or a shower.
