What is this

Hi everyone. I've had this plant for years and now all of a sudden it is starting to produce these (se picture). Can I replant them and start a new plant or what do I do?

What you got is a root rhizome. It is the way the plant produces more plants. You can leave it on until it develops it's own root system. Try placing a pot with fresh soil in it. Once established, go ahead and cut it off the mother plant. If you don't like the looks of this, go ahead and cut it off. Got nothing to loose

I can't exactly tell what's going on there. If it's a bloom on the side you are referring to, it's not like any my Sans have ever produced. Maybe a long stemmed aberration with a leaf on the end. It's hard to see from the picture. If you don't get a reply here, post it on the Cactus and Succulent site...........Maryl

I don't know. I got it as a present so I only know it's a sasevieria. Didn't know untilI stumbled onto this forum that there was so many types :o)

Yes, it is a long list and confusing at times too. Look up S. parva, as it looks very similar to your pictured plant. Care should be the same as for most all Sansevierias.
