You don't say where you live. Up north the weather has been really cold and wet. When I plant beans, I plant more than enough, then when the plants have a few leaves, I pull out the ones that don't look good and thin them that way.

The parts of your beans that look bad are the cotyledons, theones that supply the plant food till leaves are grown. It is natural for them to decay, yellow, and drop off. Really, though, if all your other plants look good, just pull out the ones that are growing poorly. That's (un)natural selection!

Also, what is your soil composed of? it looks strange, not dark and full of nutrient-rich organic material.
