My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    Thank you. The exhaust hood canopy is actually hot-rolled steel, with a custom patina applied. The tapered volume reflects our design for the steel-wrapped gas fireplace across the room (see other photos in this album).

    I love the vent hood. Is this patina simply a rusting, or did you apply chemical to the rolled steel? If chemical, what did you apply.?

    I believe it was a chemical, but our fabricator chose it himself - based on some images we'd provide so he could offer samples. This is the sample we chose, and it is then finished with mop-n-glo for a matte sheen.
