'Coccineus' what? That is a name applied to either a species or cultivar, but we need more information to know the type of plant. Since we are in the Groundcover forum, I will make a wild guess that you are talking about Thymus praecox 'Coccineus', or creeping red thyme.

Can you post clear photos of what you were sent? It's a bit difficult just based on your description to know what you are dealing with.

Yes, it is Thymus Praecox 'Coccineus'. The seed company I purchased the product sent the product in a plastic bag with roots balled up looking like human hair. I ll send a photo of the roots I ve tried to separate and a pic of how the product arrived in a plastic bag. Thank you for your

I wouldn't be very happy with that if I were you :-( I hope you didn't pay much.

Obviously those are not seeds but seeded (probably) starts. In the first two pics you can almost see the start of leaves (barely there) attached to fine roots. These should be planted so that the leaves are above the soil line.

FWIW, I wouldn't plant these directly in the ground. These need some coddling before they are large enough to fend for themselves.
