Congrats on the upcoming blooms. If the leaves fill out by the second day I would not worry about it. Maybe it's not built up enough hydraulic pressure in the first day and takes a second to get it to fully unfurl. How often do you water?

I have been watering every morning, unless we get rain. It's so hot in South Florida, and I've noticed that if I forget to water in the morning the leaves will be drooping by noon.

I actually think I saved this plant from Home Depot. When I first got it the tip was this really pretty maroon color that I have never seen on a plumeria, but it has turned green. I've read around and found that the color was probably related to poor soil quality. I feel so happy for my plant.

Would you consider moving it to a larger container or placing a layer of mulch on top of the soil? Seems like its hot enough now that it would not cause any problems

We have lava rock covering now, we thought that might simulate the growing conditions like they have in Hawaii. It's just so hot here, it's possible that even though I water every day I might still not be giving it enough because I'm afraid to over water.

That's very good to know, I'll keep a closer eye on if it looks dry. It's grown about a foot in six months or so, is that a good growth rate?

That seems about right. It really just depends on the variety. I am sure it is going to be just fine.

Those blooms look awesome! Still waiting on mine to bloom this year....Texas is behind this year due to all of the bad weather :(

I actually had to save this one from myself. I brought it inside during the winter and I think I let the soil stay a tad bit wet or something because a white fuzz that I think was some kind fungus formed and the buds stopped growing, and then m the tips of the branches started turning black and the leaves we're talking off. I took it outside and it bounced back, but it has less leaves than it did and some of the buds dropped.

Auto correct is really annoying, I have to turn it off or pay more attention before I submit my posts.

First bud is starting to open, and I got three branches from the inflo and I think I see a fourth branch starting. Not bad for a tree I got last winter and kept inside until April.
