New Endless Summer Hydrangea Issue

I recently planted three of Endless Summer Hydrangea in zone 5a. Two are fine, one of them (pictured) has some issues. I noticed black spots on the stems as well. Could this be a fungal problem and might it spread to my other two plants which are about 6 feet away from the affected one?

It has not been hot since I planted it and it is a relatively shady location along the side of a house. Since it was a new planting, I did water it frequently - possibly a little too frequently if this is a fungal issue.

I'm guessing sunburn or just discoloration from getting too hot soon after transplant. If it gets direct/hot sun you could shade it with a makeshift cloth shade or block the sun with a lawn chair until it settles in more. The first year you usually have to put up with more wilting and fragility until its roots are well established.

Black spots on the green stems are normal--hydrangea stems often have brownish/purplish/blackish spots or lines--google a picture to see if yours matches. If it looks like something wrong, take a picture of the stems and post it here.
