A marriage counselor, perhaps? :-) Seriously, there are some nice microfiber fabrics these days that have a leather-ish look but are softer and easier to clean. Have a recliner chair like this myself. Just a thought.

I have always had leather and cannot understand hitngs like the cold feel , it feels cold for aybe 20 sec. if it is good leather it breathes and is neither cold or sticky. I have it in my LR and media room and love it. As for colors it is available in hundreds of colors if you buy from a company that gets their furniture from Europe not the junk from China that is barely leather. As for recliners in a LR I would not go there I would go 1 sofa and 2 chairs a much more practical seating arrangement than 2 loveseats that really are only comfortable for one.

I totally get your thoughts and have been through the same thing with my hubby. I won (fabric won). I agree with sofa and 2 chairs (much more versatile). No loveseat and no recliner.

I think leather is also a lifestyle selection. If you have kids or pets, the ability to clean leather by just wiping away messes is so much easier than worrying about staining, remaining scents, etc of fabric upholstery.

Good leather--not the junk leather--lasts much longer than fabric. If you are buying an "invest piece" definitely go with leather because it will last for ages and even have resale value (e.g. classic chesterfields).

I have a "real leather" sofa that is very classic for living room. Accent chairs in fabric . Just don't match everything . Sets are so out.
