Do you have a picture of your kitchen how it is now? That would probably help your feedback.

I have a white (marble) counters with white sinks in both my bathroom and kitchen. I think it looks fine and have never given it a thought.

I think cast iron or fireclay is more traditional looking and stainless steel is more modern looking. Which way does your house/kitchen lean? Also, if you have an ikea near you, the domosjo fireclay sinks are a total bargain, so that might sway you in that direction.

I've seen some beautiful kitchens with white quartz and fireclay. No clashing observed. What is the quartz?

And can I ask what paint you used for your green/grey?

I did exactly what you were thinking. Went with SS to "match" the appliances and not risk disliking the white color sink next to my marble CT's. Am happy with the decision.

Agree with crl, white is more traditional and SS more modern. My kitchen goal is more country farmhouse; based on that, I should have done white.

I looked at too many Houzz pictures of kitchens and never thought they really should have done a white or SS sink.

Would suggest picking whichever one you like.

Just so I can try and answer all the questions, the green is a farrow and ball French Gray. The house was built in the early 1900s and is stone on the outside, since we opted to keep the original cabinets, I think we'll be looking for something a bit more traditional.

I'm attaching a picture of the sink area (sorry it's such a mess, but I did say we were in the middle of doing the reno!) You can see that the kitchen is not very light, and we really don't have a lot of counter space, but once it's done, we'll have a place for the microwave and toaster oven so it's not taking up any more counter space. (so sorry! I can't figure out how to make the photo sit upright).

I want to get a rather large farmhouse sink, one that spans the entirety of the horizontal lines that you see in the cabinet, and then have a cutting board that I can lay across part of it. My vote would be for the porcelain apron front. It has a certain traditional, pure feel that would match your kitchen well. It won't show dried water drops the way SS does, brings a warmer feel to the room, and there's just something about that smooth creamy surface that's just so lovely! When I think apron front, I think porcelain. I would not be concerned about the two white not being identical.

With your house and kitchen I would vote white which will be cast iron or fireclay.

Kohler makes several cast iron apron front sinks--including one model that is intended to retrofit into a regular sink cabinet.

There are a few different makers for fireclay and you might want to search on here to see threads about fireclay sinks. My memory is that they can be a little irregular, requiring some scribing of the cabinet to fit precisely and I also seem to recall that some caution is needed in installing garbage disposals or the drain or some such thing. And ikea sells the domsjo single and double apron front sinks, which are really priced very well. (Ikea also sells engineered quartz countertops and some people have found their prices to be very good--this varies by store).
