Awesome, these are my fairies I rooted last year and potted up in March. They are well rooted and I'll be sending them with some soil. I'm going to trade them this year for other well rooted roses. I got a few last year that I couldn't keep alive, they were too new. Is the 'crepuscle's' well rooted? If not could you keep it a little while longer for me?

Shoot, I don't have anything I could trade yet. I'm in the process of trying to root some rose cuttings right now. I could pay postage and a little extra though. I would love to have either of those roses, Crepuscule especially. I also have many African violet leaves listed on my tradelist, if you enjoy cloning rare violets from leaf. ^-^

I would want to keep them for a bit to make sure they are growing well before I mail them, vaflowernut. I have tried to mail too soon in the past and not had great luck, but I am learning. littlebackbat-just postage will do, I have never had much luck with African violets;)

I will be using my husbands Paypal account when it is time to ship. If you are rooting some and would like more time to allow for your rooting I will gladly wait until you are ready. It will be a few weeks before they are ready to ship, I think. Let me know which ones you prefer. I love to root roses, and often find it astonishing that not EVERYONE loves to grow them(crazy, right?), and usually end up with more than I can plant. Just trying to share the love. Also, If you have un-rooted cuttings of a particular rose that you are crazy about, and would like to mail me un-rooted cuttings, I am willing to give it a whirl.

Kristy, I was looking at the first picture you posted and would love to know what kind of set up you have there to root your cuttings. Is that sand or something else and do you cover it? I've got to come up with a better way to do mine, I lose half of them trying to transplant from the ground into pots. Thanks.

I just use builder's sand, under a mister set on a timer to go off for 10 minutes every 2 hours. I do use rooting hormone on the ends of the cuttings after scoring them a little. In my hot temps, over 100 today, it doesn't take but 2-3 weeks to see roots. Here is a picture of the propagation table my husband built for me. I use a patio mister from Lowes.

The black plastic bin is also from Lowes. I think it is made to mix concrete in.

The top of the propagation bench has an arbor over it and it gets only filtered sunlight.

I love your propagating bench! I've recently started trying to propogate roses from cuttings because I noticed a beautiful bush blooming in my community garden and had to have it. I immediately came to this forum and now have 3 potted cuttings with new leaves sprouting on them. I'm addicted... I too wonder why not everyone is running around taking cuttings and rooting roses, lol. To be honest, I've not been interested in roses until recently and the fragrance is more important to me then the color or shape. The rose I took cuttings from is a very subtle cream/very light peach color but the fragrance is divine.

Found this thread while searching for Crepuscule...I know, like a year later...but hoping you have some this year. I have Louis Phillipe (Last spring rooted, great root ball) currently rooting, more louis, Perle De Or, others...) message me if you are interested in a trade.

galzone, do u have any other roses you want I have been searching for perle de or for awhile but my crepe is not even close to ready to make cuttings

Do you have a list? Lol. I have a Perle that I rooted last year. Plus cuttings rooted now. I am easy. Noisettes (shrubs) chinas teas. Low thorns and fragrance. Searching hi and low for Crepuscule.

I am trying to root some of my Peggy Martin cuttings for family/friends, and not having any luck. I am trying again. Any advice?

Where do you lea lilive. This is a rose that has rooted easily for me just rain watered. My adice may be idifferent if you live in a hot DRY zone.
