Maybe a garlic chive! Does it have nice little white flowers (sometimes pinkish for some varieties)? Make lots of seeds? Then garlic chives.

Doesn't look like garlic chives, too much bulb and way too much stalk.

Does it scape like a garlic? If so, you may have sand leeks. Mine clumps up and sends up garliclike scapes with normally only a few quite large bulbils. I have to admit that I have not dug or tasted any of mine; they are supposed to very mild. My little bed is full of scapes, some of them already full curl, including every shoot from cloves in bulbs not dug last year and from last year's bulbils, already scaping out. These are much smaller and slenderer than any true garlics I grow.

It will help you to see what kind of flowers or bulbils, if any, and to dig some dormant bulbs to see what they look like. Sounds like something to be adopted or perhaps re-adopted.

drmbear, yes, it does have little umbels like a garlic chive! But the flavor is so mild you can't tell for sure by that alone. Kinda refreshing, though!
To OldDutch....yup, I'm gonna re-adopt them! Not for the "chive" part, though, but the little bulbs are very good!
