Where do you put them in winter? I have a lemon and a lime, they wintered in the living room. They went outside yesterday. They were not happy, have lost a lot of leaves. Yours are fabulous. What does a kumquat taste like?

Amy. They go in a greenhouse. A sunny window will work here too. Key to not losingnleaves is to transition them slowly. 1 week in full shade then slowly pull them out to full sun over the next 2 weeks. Mine went out April 1st so your could have also. Anytime we have nights above 45 and warm days mine are outside.

I think we have had this conversation before, but I'm old. What size pots are those? Mine lost their leaves in the house, so I have been afraid to put them outside, hoping they would get better first.

Amy. They are in 10g or 15g. Depends which one. Yours will recover. I lady in the citrus form had that happen and we coached her on what to do and hers are now leafing out.

Amy, kumquats have a mildish flavor similar to an orange peal. They aren't overpowering and make a pretty good jam or marmalade.
