growing amaranth relative from seed

Hi,

I am trying to grow some pigweed plants outside this summer for the purpose of an experiment, starting from seed. They are summer annuals in the amaranth family. I am trying to first germinate the seeds using the paper towel/baggie method (have done this much successfully before with pigweed seeds), and I was wondering if you had any advice of transplanting them to pots outdoors and growing them. I live in ga with average summer temps ranging from 68 to 90.

thanks!
