I tried it unsuccessfully. The dogs dug a humongous hole to Pluto and damaged the nearby roots. Did not make it. It should be an early bloomer just like "regular" QF.

Thanks for the feedback, Luis. Your dogs must not have liked that one. :) I saw some of the dwarfs yesterday at a local nursery, & they had started to bloom but weren't terribly showy. I may have to reconsider.

sally6340, I went looking for it where I live-- I think I called at least 5 nurseries and even wrote an e mail to Proven Winners (the hybridizing company or marketing company). Its not here on LI yet where I am. I would be also interested in feedback for people who have managed to purchase 'Little Quickfire" as it will fit my needs for small spaces in the garden (I'm talking with widths and heights of 5' vs. the higher 8-10' of its Daddy 'Quickfire'.

It does seem the Little Quickfire is difficult to find. I have only seen two. Hopefully there is someone out there who can give you additional feedback

I see it everywhere here in the Midwest. I haven't treied it yet, but may give it a shot in the fall. If I do, I will be sure and give an update in the spring...which is forever away.

Yes, it seems to be absent in many places. I lost one 2-3 years ago and was looking forward to getting a new one from the same place (locally) but they did not 'get' it or did not order it last year and this year. This time of the year (June-July), I would expect to see the paniculatas for sale and, while they brought VS, there was no LQ. :o(

I just went with a Wim's Red (Fire & Ice) for a sunny spot. Looks like it behaves a lot like QF. Only supposed to hit 48" max. And they're much easier to find than LQF.

I see them at most of the independents here in MN. Mine came through the winter just fine, but not a surprise being a paniculata. Starting to show some flower buds, but Stawberry Sundae looks closer to flowering than this does.

Does Strawberry Sundae have the same blooms as Vanilla Strawberry hydrangea?

I got a little runt of a quickfire on clearance at Lowes about 4 years ago in a 2 gallon pot for $5, the thing is 6x6 right now. It looks like 3 dozen blooms are about to open on it.

Wow, great info! Thanks! I wish I could find a deal like that. :)

Just bought 2 dwarf quickfires (Proven Winners) at Lowes on clearance for $5. Not expecting much out of them this year, but am looking forward to next spring
