"Spider lily" is a common name that is applied to at least three different plants and each has a different habit of growth. Can you be more specific as to the type of bulb you planted?

Nerines are fall blooming bulbs. They should have produced some early foliage then possibly have died back (depending on location) only to reemerge with flower stalks and fresh foliage in late summer. They need to be planted rather shallowly (even with the top of the bulb at or slightly above soil level) and do take some time to establish. And they are only winter hardy in zone 8 and above so either need to be dug and stored for winter or grown in containers that are lfited and stored in a protected location
