isnt that Virgina creeper? is it new to your yard, or have you had it come back year after year?
Virginia creeper grows all over the country and I think will live up north and come back once it gets established.

Not Virginia creeper which has a leaf with 5 separate leaflets arranged palmately (all coming out from one point in the center.)

Might be Ampelopsis brevipedunculata, porcelainberry. If so very invasive, you want to get rid of it. It is in the grape family ( Vitaceae) but not edible. Look that one up and see if it matches. Not enough info on your photo to be sure, but those "shiny new leaves" suggest it.
