Looks pretty iffy to me as to whether this cutting will make it, but you never Know. I would cut it off 2-3 inches below the bottom leaves and shove it into slightly damp potting mix as far as you can push it down so that those leaves are resting on the soil. Put it in a warm humid place out of any sun and hope for the best. I would also use a smaller container as that one looked too big to me for a new cutting. It is too easy to over water when the pot is that large.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. Tonight I will cut it and restart. I am going to leave the yellow part alone since it appears to be well rooted. Maybe it will recover. I agree that the pot is too large. I will reduce the pot size to a 3 inch pot for the new cutting.

If I pot in pure perilite, would it be better? If so, what is the process? How do i keep the perilite moist?

I would never suggest straight perlite, it needs to be mixed with something else. Regular potting soil should be fine, or you could use a starter-type soil if you are worried. I would suggest misting the plant daily instead of watering it ... It will keep the soil at the surface moist to help promote root growth without risking further root rot. Good Luck!

You can root in straight perlite, but I would probably be more inclined to follow VermontHoyas advice and use soil with perlite added in this case.
