I just got 4 of these. I'm so excited to put them in the ground and have them do their thing! But the label says to put them in the sun, but I'd like them to go in my shady bed. The bed does get some sun and it's in very light shade so they would get plenty of light but not 6 hours of direct sunlight. Any thoughts?
You will be fine with planting them in light shade with some sun, All Heucheras need some sun & light to perform best. Even though some websites indicate that they can be full sun to part shade, I found that for my zone 5a (Northern Illionois), they do much better in part sun. Full sun (>6 hrs) can burn the leaves (except a few dark purple ones). On the other hand heavy shade does not bring the best foliage color or growth rate.
I have Paris which is similar to Firefly (green with red/pink flowers). It is in the light shade location with 2-3 hrs direct sun (used to have more but the tree gets bigger). It really likes the location and the blooming starts in later April/early May and all the way to first frost.

Best of luck.

Awesome, thank you! I will plant them in different spots so they get differing amount of light and I'll see which one does best. I may have to do some moving later. That Paris looks so nice! I love the colorful flowers on them.
Barb, For the last 3 years since I planted Paris, it has been blooming consistently from spring to the fall. It may slow down during the hot summer weeks but still blooms. I can't find 2014 picture. Here is one from Late Aug 2013.
