Most prolific blue clematis?

I am looking to plant 2 clematis, to grow by the front of my south-facing porch. I think like a 5 year old, wanting the most showy and prolific bloomer. I prefer blues, but love the pink striped clematis, too (Bees Jubille, Nelly Moser) I'm an experienced gardener, and want to have the most bloom time, even if I have to use 2 different groups. I live in zone 5

How about Etiolle Violet ? Mine is loaded.

Are you sure that's what's in the photo? 'Etoile Violette' is typically described as a "deep purple" rather than blue and certainly was purple in my old garden. But it does bloom profusely.

Durandii is non-vining clematis that you can train to climb (needs help attaching). It has dark, almost navy blue flowers and blooms all summer for me. Otherwise, Ramona, The President and Multi Blue are good, blue flowered choices.

It is indeed etiolle violet. It looks much more purple in person - than in photo.

garden gal - I seriously dislike 4 petaled clematis, but thanks for that idea. I will look into the others, though.
