Restoring KitchenAid K45SS Stand Mixer

recently picked up a KitchenAid K45SS Stand Mixer from someone who said that there was oil leaking from it. From what I read, this is just a matter of taking it apart and putting in new grease.

I was wondering however if there was anything else I should plan on replacing. I noticed that the drip ring was missing and was wondering how critical this item was.

I was told if there is oil leaking the bearings need to be replaced. Good luck.

Where would you even take such a thing to be worked on? Mine looks to be of a similar vintage, and I'm not having any issues with it, but whatever lubricant is in there is more than 25 years old! Is it supposed to have any sort of regular maintenance?
