Thats pretty hot for a newly planted palm.They MAY get stressed in a situation like that. Was it shipped in pot or bare root?

It was shipped semi-bare root, the orchard used something called Terrasorb to help it retain water. It shipped overnight with FedEx.

I have been kind of worried about the heat for the first week, I try to keep it covered during the hottest part of the day.

I blame that %100. Bare root plants are tough sometimes. Maybe some superthrive would help a little? You sure the thunderstom is giving enough water? The root ball needs to get pretty wet! Did you just plant in ground or mix in any other soil additives or anything

I just planted it in the ground without adding any other soil, it was a sandy and well drained area so I thought that would probably be good enough.

And I've been watering it once a day, either in the morning or evening. What's superthrive? I haven't heard of it before.

I'm not certain it's well drained but I've noticed whenever I water the base of the palm it starts to puddle up and within a couple seconds it soaks into the ground. This is actually the first tree I've tried to grow so I'm new to everything haha, I'll be sure to look up superthrive.

Gotta start somewhere right? Haha Pindos are so nice too, just planted my first one 2 weeks ago. I mulched it to help retain water and mixed in sand and old mulch in the soil. Dig down next to the palm and make sure it isnt too wet or too dry!

I ordered a soil moisture meter, hopefully it will be accurate but I'm not sure. Until it gets here I'll dig beside it just to make sure I'm not over watering it.

How big was your Pindo when you planted it? I've got plans to build something over it during the winter. The past few years it's always gotten as low as 15F on at least one night and I don't want it to be damaged when that happens.
