and on the 1st photo - love that lime green one for sure. and i've seen it in stores at least. but that dark leaf with oval 'hole' in the center, what is that? i have tried to ID some of my pics from palm hammock with similar oval center and i can't find any similar (my pic has great variegation too, but it's this oval center that mystifies me!).

1st one with lime green is Golden Swallowtail. I would have to go get the name of the dark one in the same pot. It is probably a Brad Thompson hybrid from a year or two ago.

Okay, that isn't a Brad Thompson hybrid but rather an Aussie hybrid named 'Peter Sharp'.

No idea but it is a beauty. Reminds me of Frances Valentine somewhat. Check out photos of that one.

i think you're on the dot! logee's has it - not as colorful, but very close. suppose, plants vary a bit based on culture too. and it says it's tim anderson's hybrid for hot climate - and he IS PHOE.

so it all fits together. :)

I've bought F. Valentine more than a couple times from PHOE always losing it eventually. It is a beauty but a bit fussy. I hope yours is not as fussy. Here is one I bought there last year. It doesn't match up with your colors though.

alas, i did not buy it there, as i won't be able to fly it to NYC - too fragile (i do fly in the suitcase other more robust plants every time ;) ).

besides, i kill all rexes within 6mo...but i've been salivating over the pic ever-since :).

i checked my photos again - and i see an older leaf that is quite similar to yours, but with more silver. may be they change with age? or may be it's florida stronger light that brings out more silver and red?

Age and light levels affect a lot of looks on rex type begonias.
