pool privacy, shady, lite root system

Hello,I live in Tampa where I'm looking for shrubs, grass, or tropical trees that will grow in shade. Would love dense foliage up to five feet for privacy. Has to have lite roots due to sprinkler system a foot away. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
