First cutting, looking for advice on pruning

Hey Folks,

I'm new to the forum and brugmansias as well. When I was a kid my oldest brother had a beautiful brugmansia tree and I've been hoping to bring those blooms back into my life. I found the cutting posted below at a local nursery a few days ago. They said they think it'll have white or yellow blooms, not sure on the species or hybrid. After I got it I quickly moved it out of its root bound 1 gal container into this roomier 5 gallon smart pot. As you can see the mother trunk hasn't had much growth but the side shoot is growing nicely (aside from the slug damage from the nursery). I'm hoping to train this guy to have the traditional tree form. I took pics at various angles. Any advice on staking and which (if any) branches to cut would be appreciated.

Thanks,

utiseta
