Why not just grow Thai Hots? Very prolific and dry well. Produce tight clumps that are easy to harvest.

I grow the heirloom verson of the Bonnie plant, I got the seeds from Baker Creek seeds (zero germination issues for me). Very easy to grow plant. It's hardy and not very thirsty. The peppers are good but any cooking heat at all destroys the spiciness so I add them raw at the last cooking step.

You MIGHT be able to get a plant from thechilewoman.com, I don't think her shipping window is closed yet. I've never ordered from there before so I don't know much about them.

Definitely go from seed.

The Takanotsume also has a similar look to the ornamentals but are tasty. Pretty plant, too.

I have one of the Bonnie Ornamental plants in my raised beds. It is hard to keep up with harvesting the tiny pods off of it some days. I am also growing Big Thai. It grows them hanging down, and they seem to take forever to ripen. Just today I gleaned it. It yielded half a pound of long pods that are like crooked green beans. A local Indian grocery owner has been begging me to bring them in. They want them green. He can not keep enough of them in the market it seems. I gave him some of the smaller red ornamental ones as well. He wants the long green ones. Those are the ones the customers seem to prefer.

Oh and the reason I took so many pods off of the plant is I am going to put it in the ground now. I took the pods off hoping to give the plant less of a shock.

I have some chicken hearts chili plants growing which are sortof like Tabasco.

I will have the Texas Pete Tabasco Seeds later in the year. Stands up like the bird/ornamental peppers. Nice explosive red color.

We grow Thai pepper every year ( the wife's Thai ) I've grown the Bonnie Thai pepper before but it's smaller and doesn't seem to be as hot as the ones we normally grow, I got a late start on these this year but am hoping I get some peppers, also one grew from last years crop, I have a pack of seeds left if your interested , it's kinda late but don't know what area your in
