Get it out of the dirt! Orchids don't grow in dirt. I'm shocked it looks so healthy! You can buy a bag of orchid bark and a container that drains easily, then separate it from the part of the plant that's in the dirt, and just stand it back up and bury those fat healthy roots in the bark. Run the whole thing under the tap every 5-7 days, or dunk it in a big bowl of water for 5 minutes every 5-7 days so the bark can absorb some water, and give it nice bright light (not too much direct sunlight, though). It will take off.

Careful dunking the pot into a pan of water.....The bark mixes are very bouyant, and the whole thing may come floating out of the pot. Use the kitchen sink spray attachment, or take it outside and spray it with the garden hose in warm weather. It would really love a home outside in warm weather Medium shade in mid day. soak it when it gets dry, and allow it to get dry again before watering it. Look for blooms next winter.

Thank you everyone :) I was hoping that I'd be able to stand it back up. Looks kinda foolish on the side like that. Poor thing looks like it's trying to escape the dirt.

Maybe about 5 years ago the "dirt" was a perfectly good potting mix. Years and years of

overwatering caused by what I call the tropical myth have turned it into 'dirt".

Anyway, you have to do a bit of research, take note of what the real orchid growers (above) are telling you, and repot it.

About the water. If you have a salt-softening system attached to your drinking water don't use it. It can kill your plant.
