They should be fine as long as you move them inside when the night temps get into the high 40's, in my oppinion. You can set up a mist system if you want more humidity, but it's not necessary. Consider an led for indoor growing, better spectrum & prices are getting lower.

A friend of mine named Kevin lives in Utah and grows Plumeria and palm trees!!! Lol... So yes, you can grow them !!!

Its takes a little more effort, but its worth it!!!

Thank you all for your comments! I was mostly worried about humidity out here but I'm glad to know it probably is not a deal breaker. I hope they will do well. They arrived in feb and March and we had a very long wait before it was warm enough for them to move outside. It gets down to the 60s at night so they are set for a bit. I'll keep you guys posted on their progress. Thanks again for sharing your advice!

I have been living in Texas for 8 years and am returning to Utah next week. I have 2 large plumerias, 1 is just starting to bloom, that I will be bringing back with me. I was planning on laying them in the bed of the truck & covering them with a tarp to transport. The trip will take 2 days of driving. Does anyone have any advice on how to best transport them? Plumeria_in_tx anything you learn that keeps them going in Utah would be appreciated!

I have used pillows or egg crate material to help cushion plants while they are horizontal (like they are sleeping). I also bag up the entire container and zip tie around the trunk to prevent soil spills and it helps keep moisture. Be sure to prevent the tarp from vibrating and flapping against the plants.

Moving pads

Definitely secure the soil around the container so it doesn't spill. Or vibrate and hurt the roots. . Like the others have mentioned... I would also think about using burlap to wrap up the trees. Wrap so the leaves are more upward. Start from the bottom and wrap around and secure. Burlap will help it breath... When I pack to ship to friends, I'll wrap like this with sheets of bubble wrap. I'll secure the soil area with damp newspaper and secure.

Jaeut2, I will post the progress of my cuttings as they grow and let you know if I find any tricks. They seem to be liking the Heat and sun we are having. I had 5 plumeria plants that I left behind when I moved here, so I'm afraid I cannot really advise you on transporting them. I gifted mine to my parents. my Duke is blooming for the first time and I have to experience it via photos from my mom. Sad. But I'm hoping for kimo blooms in Utah soon!
