I trim my bushes every year, now, but only at the base of the offending branch, and only if it looks really out-of-place. For the most part, they are slowly standing tall, and I am very happy to have them. They are a little bit wind-blown, because of where I placed them, but otherwise look nicely vertical. :)

Awesome, thank you! Mine is only in its second year but not looking as orange as I’d hoped, nor as rocket-like. I may try this and see how it goes...
