Quite possibly absolutely nothing. They often drop buds for me when they are young plants. They often try again a time or two, and they generally do end up blooming. And then they bloom even more when they mature more.

That said, lacunosa needs to be relatively moist at all times, so underwatering may have lead to bud / peduncle drop as well. Abrupt temperature change can also lead to it.

I'd say keep doing whatcha doing, it'll bloom eventually in the same spot and in the same conditions it's budded up.
