What color to paint bath vanity?

Ok... we are selling our home and we can't afford to replace our guest bath vanity. So I am thinking I should paint and/or stain the vanity since it is a light oak color and looks a bit dated.

What would you all recommend? Paint it white to match the medicine cabinet? Or stain it a dark wood color?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

An easy fix to update your bathroom would be to paint the cabinet black. I would also remove the medicine cabinet as it is making the room feel smaller and add a simple black mirror instead. To add a bit of character, you could add a fun poster or print.

Leave it alone. Not everyone hates and despises oak the way it seems on Houzz.

I agree, leave it alone. If you paint it white the top will look dingy. Just make sure it's spotless and gleaming.

I would keep the oak and the medicine cabinet (everyone loves extra storage), but if that linen closet on the left doesn't have a door, I would hang a simple roman or pleated shade that could be lowered to hide the shelves.

Hi there,

If you are selling, it might not be necessary to paint it, as the new purchaser might want to replace it anyway. But, if you feel that it would help to sell the home, then a dark charcoal colour or black paint would be nice. I agree with above comment; to cover the linen closet. Good luck!

I agree with keeping the medicine cabinet and painting the vanity a dark grey. Seems everyone loves grey. However, I think the way you have staged your shelving looks fine and doesn't need a cover.
