Those are doing awfully well for 2-gallons. I got one to test early last season but it only has one old-wood bloom on it. Keep up the good work!

I am so jealous! None of the nurseries around here carry Bloomstruck. I will not rest until this hydrangea is mine! lol

You can get it online if you like. Also, you should be able to get it at home depot. They carry the endless summer line, which includes bloomstruck. I saw it there.

Guyground, I saw it on the Home Depot website but $50 is too big a chunk for me to spend on a hydrangea. The lady at a nearby nursery is trying to get her hands on a nice sized plant for me so I am patient. She will only charge$25-30 for a large 3 gallon sized plant.

Hello! I meant I saw bloomstruck when I went to home depot store. However, they had bloomstruck in 2 quart pots. Thus, if you can get a 3 gallon, that's a good way to go.

All 3-gallons I've seen at nurseries are running around $50.

Patience pays off though. You'll probably start seeing 3-gallons at HD within he next year, just like the others in the ES series.

It just takes the wholesale growers that long to get the plants that mature from plugs.

The lady at the nursery said that she sells all 3 gallon Endless Summers for around $25. She just has to order Bloomstruck as she only ordered Twist n Shouts, the Original, and Blushing Bride. I was pleasantly surprised to buy a 3 gallon Blushing Bride for my mother in law for only $25 when I was about to pay $40 online for a 1.5 gallon. I am a very faithful customer to that nursery now. I go every chance I get and never leave without a plant. =]

that's very cheap. I've never seen a nursery sell a 3 g endless summer for only $25.

I am by no means a collector, and have begun garden only in the past few years, since moving to my new home.
My list as of now includes Incrediball Blush, Pinky Winky, White Diamonds, Annabelle, Quick Fire, and now Bloomstruck.
I have a Limelight hedge, Bobos, Vanilla Strawberry, Double Hot Pink, and Peppermint Swirl.
On a related note, all 3 gallon shrubs/plants around me in central Indiana are $34.99 some places a few dollars more, but usually that's the price.

Limelight hedge? How big is it?

It was started last year. The attached picture shows the 7 of them across the westside of my house. The 6 at the left were planted almost 5 feet apart and the 7th, the hydrangea at the right, was planted this spring (so it is a year behind).

They are each about 3-4 feet tall and wide. I cant wait for them to be 8 feet tall!!!

that's awesome. In terms of performance and ease of growing I don't think anything can beat limelight. I also have limelight, which i've grown as a medium sized hedge.

Not available in central NH at any big box stores. I'll continue looking at other nurseries, though I haven't seen it yet at any of them either.

I bought a beautiful 2 gallon at HD today for $27.50. I am in Louisville,Ky/ Very excited. It is covered in blooms and looks healthy.

NHBabs, you should also try Walmart's website. I purchased 3 from there - they were cheaper than HD and I got free shipping. They were the same size as the ones from HD and were a nice size plant.

Guyground how are your Bloomstrucks holding up? Can we get a current pic?

Hello, they had heavy dieback in my zone 5 garden, however, there is plenty of new growth which has emerged from the crown of the plant.

I will let you know how the season goes.

Does bloomstruck die down to the ground like the other endless summers in zone 5

last year mine did not die to the ground , this year it did. I think its safe to say to expect it to die to the ground in zone 5.

On the plus side it already has quite a bit of new growth from the crown of the plant. My endless summers, on the other hand, have minimal new growth so far.

I've bought two Bloomstuck Hydrangeas in 1 gallon containers ($12.99 at Lowes). One I put in a pot that gets Morning sun until about 2pm. It's only been there for about a month but it's still looking good. It the sun starts to wreak havoc on it I can move it to a shadier spot. Not sure where I will plant the other yet. This picture was taken this morning at about 10am.

Know that this is an old post, but was wondering how your Bloomstruck recovered from this winter?

Do you do any winter protection? On my mopheads, I struggle with winter dieback (6b) and am looking for some help & suggestions that folks have actually tried successfully.

Would you mind please updating us: are you getting any blooms on the new wood this year?

It is too early to "see" open blooms from new wood. The new canes have to get taller/older, then produce flower buds and then these will open... provided weather/sunlight/theplanets align. ;o)

I’m also a Bloomstruck lover! Bought two last year, and they are already budding and blooming! I’ve had Red Sensation in the same flower bed for 3 years and only get one or two blooms. But Bloomstruck is amazing! By the way, we had one of the worst winters, and I did not protect it at all

Question: Thanks! I just planted 2 Bloomstruck about 3 weeks ago... These are blooming pink but I'm guessing they have not placed much roots into our native soil yet... So I probably should wait until next year to see what color the blooms are???

But my question is if I need to change my soil to create blue blooms whats the best products to use??? Thanks!

The product is aluminum sulfate. Also you can check your soil acidity with a kit from a store.

Personally, out of all my new rebloomers, I'm not too crazed about the Bloomstruck. Granted, this is the only one that remains as a container potted ornamental piece so maybe it just needs real dirt

- Not complaining about blooms. 60+ Blooms

- Stems are not as thick but pretty sturdy holding up all 60+ blooms vertical. A couple of floppers on the exterior, but that is to be expected since there is no adjacent stem to lean on.

- Blooms are small. stems are small, foliage is small. 3-4 Bloomstruck blooms would be the size of a single bloom on my other newly planted Let's Dance Rebloomer.
