I have this same issue. I love the color of Jacobean but they do not carry it in the big cans to re-stain my floors so I have to do dark walnut. I would find a small spot and do a test to see what you like best. I would go with Jacobean though

We were going to go with dark floors and I was also concerned that it's too trendy and will be dated very soon. After talking to people with dark floors I found another concern that I could not live with, that you see dust and dirt very easily. Basically have to vacuum and mop daily or more often. So I settled with wide plank Maple in whiskey colour. Hope it will last me a long time with easy maintenance. Floors are going in next week!

Couldn't you do a 50% 50% mix of both a get a really unique stain?
