it still is unusual for uppers and lowers to be the same depth tho! usually base cabinets stick out further.

I agree about the depth of cabinets... We were going for a clean look straight across and unfortunately I sacrificed functionality for beauty.., ladder won't really work as it will block dish washer.. Still thinking about stainless steel shelving.. Meeting with millworker tomorrow.. but if anyone had pictures to share of shelving or indented shallow shelves for glasses it would be much appreciated!!
