3 plants orded from a pretty local place, ( two tied together there), plus 15 seeds. These arrived today and are patiently waiting for me at home.

Perhaps it is the perspective, but I believe that the first one is a dwarf variety! Lucky you!

I'd love some smaller ones in containers, but also welcome some larger trees, as I have some trees I'd be happy to replace. Hopefully with a variety I'll find both.

So I potted the 3 new pants

And I planted the seeds labeled Rim Fire (seedling) x 8 , and Mary Helen Ebenberger (seedling) x 11

I left the fan/blade side out a little, and watered, having pre-dug a small poked hole.

And since I don't know what I'm doing and have every right to go ahead and make things up, I improvized and put these outside.

Also here is a cutting I was gifted that I belive was labeled Celedine

So here's the current "garden" 4 days in. So far these are in miracle grow tree and shrub mixed generously with perlite.

Seeds planted very late on 6/30, so every day in july is essentially going to be their age. And we'll call tomorrow day 1 for them, and today then day 0. The garden will in total be 4 days older

The "Rim Fire" seeds are marked with the green toothpick. Hopefully we'll see some seedlings in 6-10 days. Also, both seeds were on sale, so hopefully they aren't too old, and we get at least a couple of each.

So far I'm pretty happy with Brad's Blooms ( seeds and 3 plants shipped), and also pretty happy with Exotic Plumeria ( nursery where I grabbed 3 other plants.) With a small note that the largest most expensive Obtusa from Exotic Plumeria wasn't rooted. Perhaps my misunderstanding, but I assumed this was from a smaller cutting that was allowed to grow, not a large cutting or whatever it is. But if it does well, then no foul, so here's watching that.

Greg, that big cutting is probably in too much soil that looks kinda damp. Can you pull it out and put it into a water bottle? This is how many of us root our cuttings, using the cut off bottom of a plastic water bottle so we can see the roots--no guesswork.

And the Singapore family of cuttings (like your first pic) are very tough to root. Once you start it, just put it somewhere out of the sun and forget about it for at least two months. Don't touch it, seriously, and your chances of rooting it will improve.

Jandey1, Sounds like good advice, I'm very tempted to do just that.

Day 1 for seedlings, no real activity observed or expected. I did notice the thermometer I placed next to them read a high of 120 F, but this was in a tightly sealed plastic bag. Still, I added a couple very small holes for the seedlings, just in case, to prevent from cooking them, assuming I haven't already. The green toothpicks are just markers for seed parent.

Other plants I've had for 1-5 days seem healthy. Haven't yet touched the large unrooted "cutting". May leave it alone and learn my lesson the hard way. Have noticed a couple fine silk threads, and some ants I believe. Will monitor that.

At least one seed finally came up. I was a little worried I botched these, so I'm not sure how if I'll get more, and this makes me happy.

Some heavy rain knocked off all the flowers, and either the rain or a lizard hurt this inflo, but new flowers are on there way
