What about those of us who have galley kitchens?

It seems that is is assumed everyone has a kitchen as large as a master bedroom.
I have a 8'x12' kitchen. After the basics are put in I have very limited space for pots, pans, dishes, and then try to fit in all the baking and cooking utensils and appliances. I do have a 3'x3' closet I turned into a panty, but it is stuffed.
Please address ideas for galley kitchens. (My 8'wide x 12'long has a doorway on one side and is open to a dining area on the other end.)
